TRAILER #2 OF THE FILM AT NEW YORK COMIC CON!
1. THE CANONIZATION OF BROLY
The next Dragon Ball film – the 20th in the franchise – is called Dragon Ball Super: Broly , Toei Animation has announced. The film will once again feature an ultra-powerful, fan-favorite villain...the invincible BROLY! Broly is not a new character in the franchise, but his return to the series is significant and surprising: the Legendary Super Saiyan has long been one of the most controversial figures in Dragon Ball. Canon , not canon? Fans will soon have their answer.
So far, only brief hints have been given about the content of the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie, including how it would canonically introduce the popular Broly character into the series, while also exploring the history of the Saiyan race as well as their relationship with Frieza and King Cold (both of which terrified King Vegeta).
When King Cold was first introduced into the franchise, he seemed more like a joke. Although he was "more powerful" than Frieza, he was defeated with extreme ease by Future Trunks. Viewers will no doubt see this character in a new light after the film.
To the delight of fans and 2 months before its official release in Japan, a second (longer) trailer has just been leaked at New York Comic Con ! We now know that the film will essentially take place around the story of the Saiyan Berserker! Leaving (for once) Goku and Vegeta “aside”.
2. GOKU & BROLY: A REWRITTEN CHILDHOOD
It seems that a good part of the film will take place in the past, during the childhood of the famous Legendary Saiyan. The scenes depict the conflict between the menacing Frieza and King Vegeta, while also showing glimpses of the Ginyu force at its peak. In addition, Dragon Ball Super: Broly could rewrite Goku's exile from Planet Vegeta, news that made more than one person jump!
The film shows Bardock and his wife peacefully sending Goku to Earth, away from the destruction caused by the galactic tyrant. It's satisfying to see that this film does what's necessary to make its villain feel truly powerful, while also allowing fans to learn more about some deceased characters.
The trailer also shows Broly sent to another planet in a space capsule , a bit like Goku, and tells us that he would have had a parallel education as a Dragon Ball hero. This gives a whole new dimension to this already epic character!
This look at Broly's past will culminate in his meeting with Goku and Vegeta in the present. The entire series staff promises that the fight will live up to the final battle between Goku and Jiren during the Tournament of Power (Dragon Ball Super).
3. ONLY ONE DATE: DECEMBER 14, 2018
Dragon Ball Super: Broly will be in theaters on December 14, 2018 in Japan and January 16, 2019 in the United States . As for France, unfortunately there is no release date yet. The 100-minute film will nevertheless be subtitled in French from 12/14/18.

4. BONUS: THE SYNOPSIS
For latecomers who missed the synopsis of the film revealed in July 2018:
"This is a whole new story. The earth is at peace after the "Tournament of Power." Having realized that there are still extremely strong people across the universe, Goku decided to aim even higher high and not to waste time by continuing to train. It was then that one day, a saiyan that Goku and Vegeta had never seen before appeared before them, Broly. While "the race Saiyan" was supposed to have died out with the explosion of the planet Vegeta, so what is he doing on Earth? Returning from hell, Frieza is also involved, and the meeting of these 3 saiyans having had a completely different destiny will lead to a fierce fight."
