The 10 Best Fights of the Tournament of Power

The French version of Dragon Ball Super having already come to an end, we wanted to talk again about the last arc of the eponymous saga, that of the Survival of the Universe saga (or Tournament of Power) . For those who don't know, the Tournament of Power brings together the greatest fighters from all 12 universes and pits them against each other in a team battle. 🙌

The losing teams will have their universe erased from existence by Zen'o Sama (the king of all) while the winner will be entitled to a wish granted through the Dragon Balls aka crystal/dragon balls. For this list, we decided to look at The 10 Best Tournament of Power Fights that took place during this final story arc in the Dragon Ball Super anime series. 🤺

10. GOKU & HIT VS DYPSO & KUNSHI

When Goku and Hit discovered each other in the Super saga for the very first time, it was during a tournament between Universe 7 and Universe 8, the latter being under the jurisdiction of Beerus' brother, the Destroyer God Champa . After having their match interrupted by the two brothers, Goku gives up and hopes to one day have a rematch. Since then, Goku and Hit have gained mutual respect and hope to have a rematch during the Tournament of Power. 🏆

Although it never happened, the two were able to team up in the battle royale. During a tense battle between Hit and Dyspo, Kunshi from Universe 11 tries to help his teammate, which will push Hit into a complicated situation. Fortunately, Goku will save Hit just in time thanks to his Super Saiyan God form. Dyspo manages to escape to fight another day, and Goku is able to knock Kunshi out of the ring. It's a great fight that shows how much Goku and Hit have grown since they last met. 🦾

9. MASTER ROSHI VS GANOS

Awesome Turtle may be old, but he's still the closest person Goku has to a living father figure. After years of inaction, the Hermit Kamé Sennin was able to once again show his talents during the Tournament of Power. One of his last fights was against a fighter from Universe 4 much younger than him, Ganos. Although he proved to be much stronger than Master Roshi, the senior fighter had one thing his opponent did not: Experience. 👴

With this and a powerful Kamehameha , Roshi was able to knock Ganos out of the ring, although the attack nearly killed Roshi. This is a fight that shows that you should not underestimate your elders, because they can be just as strong as any young fighter! ⚙

8. HIT VS JIREN

After Jiren managed to defeat Goku in their first fight, Hit decided to repay Goku and save him from elimination. As the assassin from Universe 8 attempts to attack Jiren, the proud soldier is far too powerful for Hit's abilities to leap in time. ⏳

Jiren can quickly guess where Hit is about to land his blows and is even able to move away from his most powerful move. The battle will unfortunately end in Hit's elimination. This will show everyone that even time can't keep up with Jiren's power. ⌚

7. GOKU & VEGETA VS UNIVERSE 9

One of the first “fights” of the Tournament of Power is also one of the best, we’re not going to hide it! In an attempt at revenge, after tasting defeat during the tournament preliminaries, Universe 9 launches a full assault on the warrior Son Goku. While the Super Saiyan holds his own against the Danger Trio, it is while the rest of Universe 9 manages to interfere in the game that Goku will get into trouble, which will push Vegeta to intervene. 💥

While the devious warriors of Universe 9 do their best to try to defeat Goku, they are no match for the two most powerful fighters on Earth. With the same high-level aesthetic that the Dragon Ball series is known for, this fight is one of the best in the spectacle that the tournament offers us in DBS.

6. GOKU & FREEZER VS DYPSO

With only three fighters from Universe 10, Frieza will decide to fight against the "fastest fighter in the multi-verse". While Frieza seems to have the upper hand, Dyspo will show his true speed, leading Son Gohan to ally himself with the most powerful tyrant in his universe. 🌍

Luckily, Gohan and Frieza will trap Dyspo long enough for Frieza to finally take him out. Unfortunately, Gohan is also eliminated from the tournament. The battle has some entertaining moments, notably when Frieza manages to get Dyspo into an energy cage to trap him. 🥅

5. UNIVERSE 7 VS UNIVERSE 3

As Universe 10 relaxes, members of Universe 7 , Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Frieza, and Androids C-17 and C-18 take on the remaining robots of Universe 3. While both teams trade attacks with each other, U3 combine to form the powerful Agnilasa . During the fight, C-18 is eliminated, and Agnilasa will also try to destroy the ring, a beautiful mess! 😅

Thanks to their mutual powers used in complete cohesion, Universe 7 somehow manages to dominate the game, eliminating Universe 3 from the tournament. As you already know, Goku has faced robots before, but he never imagined that fighting robots could pose a challenge to his Super Saiyan Blue form. 🔥

4. VEGETA, C-17 & FREEZER VS TOPPO

If Toppo has been presented as the proudest member of Universe 10, he also has a dark secret. Indeed, he was chosen as a potential candidate to become the next God of Destruction in favor of Universe 10. Through this, he is able to harness the power of a Destroyer and shed his pride to earn. 💢

While Frieza and C-17 try, the two are unable to defeat this powerful enemy. Fortunately, Vegeta manages to intervene and he will eliminate Toppo with his Final Blast , the same technique that killed him against Majin Boo. 🔪

3. GOKU VS JIREN (ROUND 1)

Jiren proved himself to be a master technician and a solid fighter, but it wasn't until he faced Goku for the first time that fans were finally able to realize his true power. While Goku tried just about every technique possible, including transforming into Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken combined with his Spirit Bomb technique, he will be unable to land even a small blow to Jiren. .. 😅

Jiren thought he had finally won, but Goku drew on the power of his Ultra Instinct. This is where we get a glimpse of Goku's latest transformation. Unfortunately, it won't last that long, as Goku powers down before he can land a powerful blow and will end up losing this round. 💫

2. GOKU VS KEFLA

When fights get tough and opponents are too powerful, Goku and Vegeta usually turn to fusion when they have that as a last resort. However, when they also have to fight against a villain who has already merged, the fight takes a whole new turn. After Goku defeats Kale and Caulifla , the two female Saiyans combine to form Kefla . 🙌

Although Goku tries his hardest, it's not enough against this new fused Saiyan warrior....Until he is able to summon his Ultra Instinct power again and eliminate Kefla in using a powerful Kamehameha wave, which will most certainly be one of the best moments of the entire Dragon Ball saga. ⭐

1. GOKU VS JIREN (ROUND 2)

Even after Vegeta gives Goku his very last resources before being eliminated from the Tournament of Power, it unfortunately won't be enough for Goku. He will have to continue to face Jiren alone. But, just like the previous fight, Goku is able to transform into his Ultra Instinct form and even during the Tournament of Power. With the battle in full swing, Goku manages to achieve a higher form and thus quickly masters Ultra Instinct . He will then carry out one of the best actions that the franchise has ever implemented in the field of animation. 👁‍🗨

Although Goku ultimately cannot maintain this power of Ultra Instinct for long, with the help of C-17 and Frieza, he will succeed in eliminating Jiren from the tournament. It's a fantastic ending to this sequel to one of the most iconic Japanese cartoon franchises! ♥
