Recoome (リクーム Rikūmu) is the brute of the Ginyu Commando. He is the most dynamic and energetic member due to his obsession with combat stances. Aside from Captain Ginyu, Recoome is undoubtedly the most dangerous member in terms of raw strength.

APPEARANCE OF RECOOME:
Recoome is a tall humanoid with a very muscular body . He has fairly short orange hair, small, piercing eyes and a long, square chin. He wears a black jumpsuit and white battle armor which is a variation of the classic outfit of Frieza 's forces. He displays the Ginyu Commando symbol on one of his armor plates. Like every member of Frieza's galactic empire, Recoome wears a green power detector. ☝
PERSONALITY :
Recoome is the most energetic member of the Ginyu Commando. Very dynamic, he regularly performs dances doing even more combat poses than Captain Ginyu himself. The character is presented as being very comical and this is demonstrated when he plays the game of Rock Paper Scissors with his peers in order to win chocolate bars. 😅
Recoome, with a narrow mind, compensates for his lack of intelligence with extraordinary physical strength. He is also sadistic and takes pleasure in torturing and inflicting pain on his opponents. Recoome also likes to taunt and provoke his enemies. In the uncensored version, Recoome can be seen giving Son Goku the finger, when he mocks the latter's power based on the data from his detector. This reinforces his provocative and intimidating side. 😰
Apart from his faults and his wickedness, Recoome seems to feel attachment and affection towards his peers. He also seems to have a strong friendship with Guldo especially when he encourages the latter during his fight against Krillin and Gohan. In addition, he will be greatly saddened by the death of his comrade a little later.
Unlike other members of the Special Forces, he does not seem to take his battles seriously and prefers to have fun by striking energetic poses during clashes. 👊
Recoome feels a certain respect towards his opponent when he continues to fight even when he is practically defeated. This is particularly well demonstrated when Son Gohan , totally helpless , persists in trying to get up to continue the confrontation in vain.
We can also see that like Guldo, Recoome likes unfair combat techniques . This is particularly the case when he points out to Vegeta that he appreciated his penchant for sneak attacks from behind. 🤜
Like his Special Forces counterparts, Recoome's special powers were given to him at birth . Recoome practiced dancing as a child and was able to train his agility by performing various combat poses. Once he reached adulthood, he passed the membership test with flying colors and was thus able to join the Ginyu Commando.
RECOOME IN THE FREEZER SAGA
After being contacted by Frieza, the Ginyu Commando arrives on the planet Namek and is ordered to seize the Dragon Balls.
The Special Forces quickly locate and join Vegeta, Gohan and Krillin who were gathering the crystal balls . In order to have the privilege of facing the prince of the Saiyans, Recoome and his peers then play a game of Rock Paper Scissors and he wins hands down. 👍
After Guldo's death, Recoome executes a combat pose and begins his confrontation with Vegeta. The prince of the Saiyans strikes first and will inflict numerous sequences on his opponent before finally sending Recoome crashing against a mountain . The latter, not fighting seriously, will be the victim of numerous sneaky and powerful attacks. Recoome then escapes unscathed but his combat armor has been destroyed. 💥
The fight then becomes more serious and Recoome now dominates the fight with a clear advantage . Suffering very little damage, he manages to very easily defeat the prince of the Saiyans , rendering him completely powerless. It was when Recoome was about to finish off his victim with his Eraser Gun that the two earthlings intervened. Son Gohan thus saves Vegeta from the attack that was supposed to finish him off at the same time as Krillin delivers a powerful kick to Recoome from behind. The attack is so violent that the latter loses the vast majority of his teeth. 😱
Recoome, now angry and wanting revenge for Krillin's attack, asks Barta and Jeice for permission to deal with the earthlings by finishing them off. The latter agree in exchange for chocolate bars. The fight resumes and Recoome delivers a powerful kick to Krillin's head, almost killing him but rendering the earthling unable to move.
Recoome then decides to have fun with Gohan by making him bite the dust several times while admiring the tenacity and bravery of his opponent who strives to get up after each attack. The red-haired alien then ends the fight by breaking Gohan's neck with a powerful kick. Wearing a sadistic smile, it is when Recoome was preparing to finish off his three victims that Son Goku finally arrives. The Earth Saiyan then heals his companions with Senzu beans to the astonishment of Barta, Jeice and Recoome. 👍
Goku and Recoome prepare to confront each other and the alien begins to mock the low power of the Saiyan indicated by the detectors of his peers. Recoome as a warm-up, theatrically executes a new combat pose. He then begins to charge his ki in an attempt to use one of his most powerful attacks, the Ultra Fighting Bomber . Just as he is about to use his attack, Goku, with prodigious speed, delivers a powerful and single elbow to the stomach which knocks Recoome out instantly. 😵
Frightened at first, Barta and Jeice then decide to attack Son Goku together . The Saiyan manages to easily defeat his opponents and Vegeta then takes the opportunity to immediately finish off Barta and Recoome with an energy blast. Jeice still manages to escape and leave the battlefield. 🤔
Once dead and much later, Recoome goes to the planet of Grand Kaio with his peers Guldo , Barta and Jeice. They then find Tenshinhan, Chaozu and Yamcha who have been training there since the end of the Saiyan saga. Yamcha then confronts Recoome . Even if Yamcha is reluctant at the start of the fight, he easily wins the victory against the red-haired alien who is sent to the bowels of Hell with his peers.
SAGA OF THE OTHER WORLD AND BUU
In the other world saga, Recoome can be seen with Frieza, King Cold, Cell and the rest of his Special Forces companions in the Underworld. The group of villains is looking for a way to leave the scene when Goku intervenes. The Ginyu Commando attacks the Saiyan in unison but is defeated in a few hits. Recoome then crashes into the bloody pond of Hell, following an elbow from Goku. 🤛
After Paikuhan defeats Frieza, King Cold, and Cell, the warrior executes an attack triggering a powerful tornado that sends all the villains crashing into a mountain of spikes. Recoome is then impaled like the rest of his comrades and the group is once again locked in the Underworld. Once in prison, Recoome offers an arm wrestling competition but is immediately reprimanded by his companions. 😅
We can see Recoome again in the Underworld during Buu's Saga when he observes the fight between Son Goku and Majin Buu in the company of other villains.
DRAGON BALL GT AND BROLY MOVIE
Recoome is seen briefly in Dragon Ball GT when he escapes from the Underworld with many other villains. However, he is quickly defeated again and locked in his cell once again.
In the Broly movie, Recoome is present with the rest of the Ginyu Commando. The group is in fact present alongside Frieza and King Cold when the latter demand the submission of the Saiyan people to King Vegeta. 👎
THE POWER OF RECOOME
Recoome can easily dominate Vegeta even when the latter uses all his power . At the time of Frieza's saga, the Prince of Saiyans had a power level of 30,000 units. Krillin tells us that Recoome should have roughly the same energy level as Barta and Jeice . When Ginyu estimates Son Goku's power at around 60,000 , Jeice states that Recoome had no chance of winning the fight. We can then estimate the real force of Recoome between 30 and 45,000 units. 📖
Much later in the Other World saga, we can see that Recoome's power has greatly increased because Goku is forced to increase his power to get rid of him and the rest of the Special Forces. The Ginyu Commando is nevertheless defeated very easily, which has the effect of shocking Frieza and King Cold.
RECOOME’S FAVORITE ATTACKS
Speed up : Recoome is able to significantly increase his speed by releasing ki from his feet, allowing him to easily dodge attacks from his enemies while getting behind them.
Ki Blast : a classic wave of energy
Increased Stamina : Recoome is able to increase his stamina by concentrating despite his size. He was thus able to withstand Vegeta's barrage of blows and the Final Crash without any problem, coming away almost without any injury.
Recoome Eraser Gun : The user fires a powerful beam of energy from their mouth. This is one of Recoome's signature attacks. This attack is so powerful that Krillin was able to notice that this technique had severely damaged the planet Namek.
Recoome Renegade Bomber : widely known as Recoome Boomba, he used this technique against Son Gohan. First, Recoome strikes a pose while charging reddish-pink energy spheres in his hands. Then he quickly fires them at the opponent, dealing a lot of damage.
Recoome Fighting Bomber : Also called Recoome Kaboom, this is a powerful explosive wave that the user unleashes around themselves, destroying everything around them.
Recoome Boom : This is a powerful elbow strike that Recoome notably used against Vegeta.
Recoome Kick : a powerful knee strike that Reecome notably used against the Prince of Saiyans.
Recoome Hip Attack : The user charges at their opponent and executes a powerful sweep with their leg. Reecome used this attack against Son Gohan on Planet Namek.
Recoome Mach Punch : the user charges his ki by channeling all his energy into his arm and delivers a powerful punch to his opponent. Reecome used this attack against Son Goku.
Super Breath : Recoome inhales deeply and then exhales, releasing a massive hurricane-like gust of wind. He notably used this technique on Namek against Son Gohan in order to counter his Masenko.
INFORMATION ON RECOOME:
- In its original language, the name "Recoome" is a play on words meaning " cream ". As with every member of the Ginyu Commando, the name always refers to a dairy product. 🍼
- Its power level is not indicated precisely but it is between 30 and 45,000 units.
- Despite Vegeta blasting Reecome with an energy blast , his corpse can still be seen later when Son Gohan flies above the battlefield. This therefore implies that Vegeta's attack simply killed Recoome instantly but did not destroy his body contrary to what one might have thought. 💥
