Kiwi (キュイ, Kyui "Cui") was Vegeta's first great rival and served for years in Frieza's army. KIWI APPEARANCE:
Kiwi is a purple-skinned alien. It has many scales on its body and its face has amphibian features. As part of Frieza 's forces, he naturally has the typical combat armor and is equipped with a green power detector. Kiwi wears black pants, white protective gloves and greenish combat boots. 🧤
KIWI PERSONALITY:
Kiwi is one of the most arrogant characters in the entire Dragon Ball Z series. He has a habit of underestimating his opponents and shows extreme cowardice when confronted with those stronger than him. He has always shown rudeness and contempt towards Vegeta and has a deep hatred towards the Saiyan people . Like many soldiers in Frieza's army, he obviously has no respect for life and takes pleasure in coldly killing his victims. 💀
BIOGRAPHY :
In the anime only, we learn that Kiwi and other members of his race invaded the planet of Zeshin, exterminating almost all of its inhabitants. 💥
During the Namek saga, Krillin, Gohan and Bulma end up discovering a spaceship whose origin they do not recognize. They then discover that a Namekian village has been attacked by a battalion of soldiers led by Kiwi who is a high-ranking officer in Frieza's army.
For his part, Kiwi, who has always been Vegeta's rival , has always had a much higher power than that of the Prince of Saiyans. However, he will soon discover that Vegeta had a huge power boost after his stay on Earth.
KIWI DURING THE NAMEK SAGA:
Following his confrontation on Earth and after being incapacitated by Goku, Krillin, Gohan and Yajirobé , Vegeta was treated on the planet Frieza 79. When he comes out of the treatment tank, Kiwi approaches the prince and tells him that Frieza is already on the planet Namek looking for the Dragon Balls with Zarbon and Dodoria . Vegeta then fumes with rage because he wishes to gather the precious artifacts himself in order to obtain immortality . ✨
Kiwi takes the opportunity to make fun of the Prince of Saiyans but this does not destroy the latter's confidence. Vegeta then jumps into the first space pod declaring his intention to go to Namek to obtain the Dragon Balls . An angry Kiwi warns Frieza and receives authorization to kill the elite Saiyan warrior. This is a big moment for Kiwi because he has dreamed of killing his sworn enemy for a long time. The Emperor's approval is then a blessing for him. Kiwi then jumps into a basket and goes after the prince.
Once on the planet Namek, Kiwi quickly locates Vegeta using his detector and then finds himself face to face with him.
Kiwi, very confident, announces to the prince his superiority and that he is sure to win the fight . Vegeta then reveals the secret of the Saiyans to him. He explains to him that having come close to death following his expedition to Earth, his power has greatly increased . He has also learned to camouflage his potential in order to hide it from his adversaries.
Kiwi expects Vegeta's power level to be more or less equivalent to his own at maximum. Vegeta, whose power is now much greater , demonstrates his new potential by charging his energy. Faced with the aura of his enemy, Kiwi is then frightened and the strong energy that the prince gives off manages to destroy his detector . 💥
Frieza's henchman, then understanding his inferiority, decides to resort to cowardice. He informs Vegeta that the Galactic Emperor is behind him and immediately takes advantage of the diversion to send a barrage of energy blasts towards his opponent.
The dust is settling and Kiwi is laughing out loud, convinced that he has beaten his enemy . Vegeta suddenly appears behind him and the latter announces that his speed has also increased tenfold. He also adds that he had no trouble dodging the barrage of explosions.
Panicked, Kiwi rushes into the air in order to escape but he is quickly caught by the Prince of the Saiyans. Vegeta punches him in the stomach destroying his battle armor and throwing him higher. Vegeta smiles and mercilessly ends Kiwi's life by blasting him from a distance with his energy. ✨
Many years later, Kiwi again makes a very brief appearance during the Super C17 saga of Dragon Ball GT. He escapes from the Underworld with many other villains but is quickly defeated again.
Kiwi also appears very briefly in the film Broly the Legendary Super Saiyan . King Cold and Frieza are visiting planet Vegeta to demand the submission of his people from the king of the Saiyans. Kiwi is one of the many henchmen who escort the tyrannical emperor for the occasion. 😎
THE POWER OF KIWI:
According to Zarbon and Kiwi himself, the power of this elite soldier is approximately 18,000 power units. This estimate is made on Namek in comparison to Vegeta's own power when Zarbon wonders whether or not the Prince of Saiyans' level could have exceeded that of Kiwi. 👊
In comparison Dodoria has a power of 22,000 at this time. Vegeta, however, is much superior to Kiwi during the Namek saga following the power boost he received after his brush with death .
The Prince's level is at the time of the Namek saga located at approximately 24,000 power units, i.e. above Dodoria itself.
Kiwi, however, could still have competed with Vegeta if he had continued to train. Frieza's soldier will still be convinced of his superiority over his rival because of the figures indicated by his detector.
KIWI’S FAVORITE ATTACKS:
Bomber Attack : Kiwi charges his energy and creates a red aura around him. This technique then forms a sort of explosive shield. He then rushes towards his enemy and inflicts damage on impact.
Finger Beam : This attack is only used in the anime. Kiwi extends his index finger forward and fires a beam of energy towards his opponent.
Full Power Energy Wave : This attack is similar to one of Bardock's techniques. Kiwi charges an energy sphere in his hand and then releases a powerful energy wave towards his opponent.
Continuous Energy Ball : Kiwi extends his arms out to the sides to charge his ki. He then places his hands forward and fires numerous energy balls towards his opponent with a rapid cadence.
Lord Frieza! : This technique perfectly reflects the Kiwi personality and mentality. This is a fairly cowardly attack where the user creates a diversion. Kiwi charges at his opponent and suddenly stops. He shouts "Lord Frieza!" while looking behind his enemy's shoulder with a frightened look. Typically, the distracted opponent turns around and Kiwi takes the opportunity to send a powerful barrage of energy at them, finishing with an evil ki blast. This attack deals a lot of damage due to the opponent having their guard down.
Lightning Beam: Kiwi unleashes a barrage of energy waves towards his opponent and finishes by sending a large sphere of red ki at them.
Explosive Wave : Kiwi charges his ki and unleashes a powerful explosion of energy all around him to destroy nearby enemies.
