Dodoria (ドドリア Dodoria) is an important member of the Frieza Force. He is a cruel and merciless warrior who is, along with Zarbon, the main commander and a loyal advisor to the Galactic Emperor. Just like his companion, he more or less acts as his right-hand man. Dodoria is a powerful warrior that Frieza can always count on and he is renowned for his extreme brutality.

DODORIA APPEARANCE
Dodoria is a tall, elite warrior . He is a pink-skinned alien with a skull and arms bristling with spikes. He has the standard battle armor of Frieza's army but this is a variant with a blue color. His shoulder pads are brown and he is equipped with a green power sensor . It is interesting to note that Dodoria only has three fingers in the manga while he does have human hands in the anime. 🖐
PERSONALITY
In his way of speaking and behaving Dodoria makes a real contrast with his congener Zarbon . Indeed, it has a slightly vulgar and rustic side compared to the latter which is much more noble and refined . Despite his somewhat brutal appearance, Dodoria is still endowed with a certain intelligence which facilitated his integration into the high command of Frieza's army. Unfortunately for him, he has a certain tendency to get carried away and his anger often takes over, which sometimes prevents him from having logical reasoning . In fact, he sometimes has very violent attacks of rage and he then enters a state where he sows carnage and destruction. In these moments, only an order or a word from Frieza can calm him down and put an end to his madness. 🤬
Dodoria, like the majority of soldiers in the galactic army, has an unfortunate tendency to underestimate his opponents but he is still capable of feeling extreme fear when he finds himself facing an opponent much stronger than him. His greatest fault is undoubtedly not being rigorous enough in the missions entrusted to him. This is perfectly demonstrated when he forgets to finish off Bardock by simply leaving the planet, making the Saiyan appear dead. 💀
Dodoria is also very proud of his power and is probably the most sadistic Frieza soldier in the entire army. He indeed seems to take a certain pleasure in murdering hundreds of Nameks , including many children and the elderly. Dodoria thus demonstrates extreme violence and has the habit of resolving all her problems by force. Like his companion Zarbon, he feels deep contempt for the Saiyans. 👎
Dodoria still has many strengths and he is an excellent leader of troops . He is relatively appreciated and respected by his men who even go so far as to prefer him in comparison to Zarbon. Indeed, many soldiers in Frieza's army will have this preference for Dodoria because they consider Zarbon to be a little too perfectionist and that he is always obsessed with her beauty.

DODORIA DURING THE FREEZER SAGA
Dodoria first served on behalf of King Cold as part of the Cold Force . Zarbon and the Ginyu Commando all served the king before his retirement. After King Cold passed power to his son, Dodoria began working for Frieza with Zarbon. The two warriors quickly became advisors and commanders to the Galactic Emperor. The Cold Force was then renamed in English the Frieza Force . Thanks to his power and brutality, Dodoria became Frieza's enforcer. 💥
At the start of Frieza's saga, Dodoria and Zarbon accompany the Emperor to the planet in order to gather the Dragon Balls . Frieza indeed wants to obtain immortality in order to be able to maintain his tyrannical position in the universe. Dodoria carries out the Emperor's orders by ruthlessly slaughtering many Nameks in an attempt to gain information on the location of the crystal balls . Vegeta soon arrives on the planet Namek and also has the desire to obtain immortality. Kiwi is then ordered to find the prince of the Saiyans in order to eliminate him. Dodoria's detector places Vegeta's power at around 24,000 and he prefers to think that it is a malfunction of his device. With Dodoria's power being 22,000 units, this would have meant that he was weaker than Vegeta. 👎
Some time later, three Namekian warriors arrive on the scene to help the survivors of Frieza's last attack. The latter are of lower levels than the Emperor's basic soldiers and Dodoria takes the opportunity to make fun of them. On Frieza's orders, the pink alien ruthlessly and brutally massacres the three Nameks without the slightest mercy . He then declares that he is capable of defeating ten of them at the same time. 🤛
In order to avoid further bloodshed , Moori, the chief of a Namekian village, reveals the location of a crystal ball.
Frieza then demands to know the location of the last Dragon Balls but Moori categorically refuses. The latter decides to confront Frieza's men and orders Cargo and Dende (two Namek children) to flee. Dodoria executes Cargo during his escape (the murder of little Namek is carried out in the manga version) and then brutally breaks Moori's neck. 💀
Dodoria prepares to finish off Dende but Gohan, overcome with rage , delivers a powerful kick that causes him to crash into a nearby house. Son Gohan and Krillin then take advantage of this short diversion to escape with the little Namek by leaving the scene.
Frieza immediately orders Dodoria to catch up with the two earthlings. The pink alien quickly catches up with them but Krillin uses his sun bite technique to blind it to escape. 🌞
Enraged, Dodoria uses his Maximum Buster to demolish the surrounding lands. He is then convinced that his attack was enough to kill the earthlings and he returns to report to Frieza. While on his way to join the Emperor, Dodoria is attacked by an external force and he ends up discovering that his assailant is none other than the prince of the Saiyans. Vegeta then announces that Kiwi died at his hand and that he now intends to attack the other minions of the Emperor. Dodoria suggests that Vegeta flee while he still can, but Vegeta challenges him to a duel . 🤼♀️
Angry that Vegeta is sure of him, he tries to get his power detector but the prince of the Saiyans crushes his accessory with a kick. Vegeta then increases his power to the maximum level which makes his opponent tremble in fear. Dodoria decides to end the fight quickly and triggers her Maximum Buster .
Vegeta dodges the attacks very easily and he announces to Frieza's commander the ability of the Saiyans to suddenly increase their powers when they survive imminent death. Dodoria is then terrified by the power of his enemy and he then tries to negotiate his life by offering to the prince of the Saiyans to reveal to him the secret of the destruction of the planet Vegeta . The elite Saiyan accepts the proposal and Dodoria reveals to him that it was Frieza who destroyed the warrior planet. The pink alien takes the opportunity to try to flee but Vegeta, who is not in the mood, decides to finish off Frieza's henchman. Vegeta catches up with Dodoria and eliminates him with a powerful energy shot . 💥
DRAGON BALL GT AND BROLY MOVIE
Dodoria makes an appearance in Dragon Ball GT during the Super C17 saga . He escapes from the Underworld with many other villains. His first action once on Earth is to devastate cities in the company of Zarbon. Frieza's two former commanders will still be quickly defeated by the warriors of the Z Team and they return to the Underworld. 👿
In the Broly movie, Dodoria can be seen with Zarbon and the Ginyu Commando. The group stands alongside Frieza and King Cold when they demand the submission of the Saiyan people to King Vegeta.
Dodoria also makes a very brief appearance during Buu's Saga when he watches the fight between Son Goku and Majin Buu . He observes the confrontation with other villains using a giant crystal ball in the Underworld. 🐲
DODORIA IN THE BARDOCK FILM
In this film which takes place well before the events of Dragon Ball Z (and which deals with the story of Son Goku's father), Dodoria is presented as one of Frieza's most powerful warriors along with Zarbon. In the Emperor's ship, Dodoria learns that the power of the Saiyans is constantly growing and Zarbon then warns Frieza of the threat they represent. The two commanders thus advise the Emperor to eliminate the threat before it becomes a problem. Concerned about the possibility of one day losing his galactic empire, Frieza gives the green light and sends an elite group to the planet Meat in order to eliminate Bardock and his team of fighters consisting of Tora, Borgos, Shugesh and Fasha. 👊
Once on the planet, Dodoria massacres Commando Bardock and reveals to Tora Frieza's plan to completely wipe out the Saiyan race. the pink alien wears a mocking look and then finishes off Tora who was the best soldier of the detachment.
Bardock arrives on the scene to find his friends all dead. The fight begins but the Saiyan is quickly knocked out by a powerful energy shot from Dodoria. Bardock manages to survive the attack but finds himself unable to continue the fight. Dodoria leaves him for dead and leaves to report to Frieza. Shortly after, the Galactic Emperor decides to put an end to it once and for all and now wishes to destroy the planet Vegeta . 💥
Bardock recovers slightly from his injuries and leaves to warn his people of the impending disaster but no one believes him. Son Goku's father then decides to try the impossible and goes to confront Frieza alone.
The Emperor then blows up Planet Vegeta, thus exterminating all the inhabitants as well as Bardock who is caught in the explosion. 💀
Dodoria is thus with Zarbon, the only witness to the destruction of the Saiyan world.
THE POWER OF DODORIA
The official power of Dodoria is approximately 22,000 units according to the author. As Frieza's commander, he is one of the mightiest warriors in the galactic army. He can easily defeat Saiyan and Namekian warriors and he can also fight several at the same time without problem. 💪
He was thus able to easily defeat Commando Bardock and managed to seriously injure the Saiyan leader with a single energy shot. Bardock had a power of around 10,000 units at that time.
Dodoria is, however, narrowly surpassed by Vegeta who has a power of 24,000 during the Namek saga.
DODORIA’S FAVORITE ATTACKS
Maximum Buster : Dodoria raises her hands in the air and charges a large ball of orange-yellow energy. Once the sphere is ready, he extends the palms of his hands towards his opponent and projects a powerful wave of energy which will inflict considerable damage.
Dodoria's blow : the user disappears in front of his opponent and suddenly reappears behind him while delivering a powerful punch to his back. This technique is relatively similar to one of Raditz's attacks. On a low level opponent, this attack is fatal because it causes impalement.
Dodoria Head Breaker : Dodoria rushes at her opponent, grabs him firmly, and delivers several powerful headbutts. This attack is very brutal due to the numerous spikes on Dodoria's skull.
Energy Cannon : The user fires a powerful energy beam from their mouth. This attack strongly resembles the ultimate attack used by Nappa.
ANECDOTES ABOUT DODORIA
- The name Dodoria or Doria comes from a Japanese pun which refers to an exotic fruit, durian .
- In one of the episodes of Dragon Ball Super, there is a reference to Zarbon and Dodoria when Vegeta ends up with branches in his hair. Two fruits come out of the ends, a pomelo which is a reference, and a durian fruit to recall Dodoria. This nod is apt because Frieza's two commanders were both enemies of the Prince of Saiyans during Dragon Ball Z. 🤔
- In the Hungarian and Greek dubs, Doria is a woman with a very deep voice
- In the Portuguese dub, he sings an opera.
